After careful evaluation, feedback from committee leaders, devotee surveys, vision board, and talks with Mother Center, we have established initial criteria for our future home. The following list represents the ideal features a property should have to be a perfect fit. However, there may be properties that have more of one feature and less of another that would still be acceptable. So, just because a property doesn't meet every item listed here does not mean it is out of the question. So, even if a property doesn't meet every criterion, we invite you to submit it for evaluation to the Building Committee.
It is likely that any space we buy will need some renovation to accommodate our needs. In the initial selection of property, we specifically look at key criteria first, and if a property meets them we then take a closer look to see if it can be reasonably modified to fit our needs. Because of the need for a chapel area of 1600 square feet minimum, and a separate social hall/foyer area of similar size, it is unlikely to find a residential property with rooms this large. Church, commercial, or industrial properties are most likely to suit our needs.
In your search, please look for properties that are:
In summary: we are looking for a church or commercial building of about 5,000 square feet with parking for 50 cars and outside courtyard/seating/garden space.
If you come across a property that looks like it might work, please submit it to the Building Committee by emailing bmgbc@googlegroups.com.
Thank you, and Jai Guru!
